Position: Operations Specialist Assistant
Location: Hastings, NE
Pay: $20.00/hour (up to $25.00 based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Language Requirement: Bilingual (English & Spanish) required
What You’ll Do

Support daily production operations across aluminum melting, die casting, trimming, and finishing

Monitor and optimize processes to meet production, quality, and delivery goals

Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S implementation and sustainment

Collect and analyze production data using Excel (charts, pivot tables, Pareto analysis, trend reports)
-
Collaborate with operators, team leads, and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements
-
Conduct Gemba walks and audits to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to standards
-
Track and report KPIs such as OEE, cycle times, scrap rates, and downtime
-
Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including Kaizen events and root cause analysis

Maintain accurate documentation (logs, audits, work instructions, reports)

Promote a safe, compliant, and inclusive work environment
What We’re Looking For
Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred)

2+ years of manufacturing experience (metal, foundry, die casting, or similar environment preferred)
-
Strong knowledge of Lean principles and hands-on 5S experience
-
Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, data analysis)

Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Data-driven mindset with attention to detail

Willingness to work hands-on in production when needed

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, heat, lifting up to 50 pounds)
Preferred:
-
Experience with die casting equipment, furnaces, or trim presses
-
Familiarity with quality tools (SPC, control charts) or continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Kaizen)

Experience with ERP/MES systems
